C200

This adorable plaid textile comes from highlands of Guatemala where it was handwoven to use as a skirt or corte by Maya women, wrapped around the waist several times. The mid/heavy-weight canvas-like fabric was hand woven on treadle looms and is very strong, so would be suitable for upholstery projects, would make a great beach blanket or a throw. Enjoy this textile as a table cloth, bed cover or fabric for decorative pillows. All cotton. The textile is made of two plaid panels, joined by a decorative hand embroidered randa seam, forming a loop.
Size: 11.5 ft x 3.4 ft | 138" x 41" | 3.5 m x 1.05 m, sewn together at the ends (making a loop).
Condition: Very good vintage condition. Bright colors, a little hole and a small bleach stain on one edge seen in pictures.
Care: Machine wash cold, line dry recommended.
