Traditional Guatemalan jaspe/Ikat fabric

This beautiful blue vintage textile was locally sourced in the highlands of Guatemala and represents artisan weaving skills passed down from one generation to another. The hand-woven vintage textile originally used as skirt, or corte by Maya women, wrapped around the waist several times.

This cotton blend textile was hand woven on treadle looms and is strong, so would be suitable for upholstery projects, would make a great beach blanket, picnic throw or even a table cloth, bed cover or fabric for decorative pillows. Let your imagination fly....
